The central theme in the work of Martin Honert (* 1953 in Bottrop) are memories of the own childhood and youth. These insights of the personal life were transformed by the artist and remind the audience to its own experience. Honert studied arts from 1981 to 1988 at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, he was a master-class student of Fritz Schwegler. In 1993 Honert was awarded with the Kunstpreis der Böttcherstraße in Bremen. Since 1998 he is professor at the Dresden University of Fine Arts.
